Individual Therapy

Seeking therapy can be an important step in the healing process whether we are seeking healing from trauma, unhealthy relationships, life stress, grief, or other problems that people encounter. The clinicians at MECC use a variety of therapeutic approaches that all center the client and what their unique perspective and experience brings to the therapy room. We believe that therapy is a place of trust to explore how the past has affected your present and, while we cannot change the past, we hope to support you or your child in making positive and lasting changes for a better life.

Family Therapy

At MECC, all our clinicians are experienced in working within the parent-child or caregiver-child dyad and approach this work with a sense of curiosity, integrity, and hope. When the relationship between you and your child has been disrupted or difficult, it can be helpful to engage in the therapeutic process alongside your child and their clinician. Some families find it helpful to develop co-regulatory techniques, therapeutic parenting skills, or a better understanding of how trauma, chronic stress, depression, and more can affect a child’s development.

Consultative Services

Our wonderful clinicians have each worked for years to develop their own unique specializations and areas of expertise. These areas include adoption, postpartum, post-abortion, ADHD, the LGBTQ+ community, trauma, and more. Please see our clinicians’ bio pages for more information. Consultation to available to graduate students, community members, families who may not wish to commit to therapy but need some assistance, and mental health professionals. Consultation is a different process from therapy and is not intended to be a replacement for treatment, but rather to develop new knowledge or skills in a brief, non-clinical setting. There is a fee per hour for consultative services.

Education and Trainings

In addition to providing consultation for those who want to learn individually, we offer trainings and educational opportunities for schools, professionals, and community groups. Our clinicians have spoken at many local schools and provided hands-on activities for students to practice so they can take charge of their emotional health; groups of professionals who support others and want to expand their abilities; and we have taught in college courses as guest speakers. Please contact Jody if you’d like to request educational services from MECC.

PLMHP Supervision

Several of our LIMHPs are now providing supervision to Provisionally Licensed therapists who are working toward licensure. This is a complicated process and it can feel like you’re drinking from a firehose when you first get started! Let our experienced clinicians help you find your therapeutic voice through individual supervision.

Internship Opportunities

Graduate students earning their master’s degree in social work or clinical Mental Health Counseling are encouraged to apply for an internship position with MECC! We only have a few internship openings per semester so it’s best to get in touch early! Our interns get to work with clients, participate in individual and group supervision, and may be paired with one or more clinicians to experience multiple varieties of treatment. We try to offer a well-rounded internship experience for every intern.
