Jody Angel-Trejo, LIMHP

Jody is a Licensed Independent Mental Health Practitioner with a strong passion for helping children, adolescents and their families find relief from the stress and trauma experienced in their life. She has worked in a wide variety of clinical settings over the past 20+ years. She works from a very holistic perspective, as she has extensive training in attachment and trauma related issues. Training over the years include, EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing), CBT (Cognitive Behavioral Therapy), CPP (Child Parent Psychotherapy), Play Therapy/Expressive Arts, TF-CBT (Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, TANT (Trauma Art Narrative Therapy) and NMT (Neurosequential Model of Therapeutics). She is also a trained COSP (Circle of Security Parenting) facilitator.

Jody has worked with clients who have diverse backgrounds experiencing trauma, grief/loss, divorce of parents, disrupted attachment patterns, and anxiety or depression. She believes in the value of forming safe and secure connections with the client as well as the family system to support the growth in family interactions, which is at the roots of child development. While relational work is at the heart of Jody’s work with clients, she is also well trained on neurodivergent issues, symptom management and ways that parents can support their children through whole body approaches to improve the functioning of the brain and body, as the two are interconnected.

Jody enjoys providing clinical supervision to individuals seeking licensure as a Professional Counselor or interns completing their master’s degree.  With a fully stocked play therapy room, as well as several outpatient offices filled with therapeutic resources, Jody enjoys engaging supervisees in reflective supervision to help enhance confidence/skills and improve self-awareness as a clinician. Jody fosters a non-judgmental space in which supervisees are allowed to explore their own internal functioning as well as discover principals of change that will support their career as a therapist.  Jody provides an array of training for various groups of professionals, extending from neurodevelopment, therapeutic parenting and for schools/preschools across the state of NE.  She also extends her work to consultation with parents and professionals as needed to support their journey.
